AutoGPT v/s Algo Trading : How does the future look like for Algo Traders?

Few days ago, OpenAI announced about Auto-GPT of its earliest version, and since then already thousands of applications have been doing rounds on internet, with few people claiming that the Auto-GPT built a complex app or a website from ideation to product under 20mnts.

I can’t help but try to compare it with how its going to impact algo trading domain. Auto-GPT is a machine learning model that uses the GPT-3.5 architecture to automatically generate trading strategies based on historical data. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach algo trading by allowing traders to generate highly complex trading strategies with a few clicks of a button.

The impact of AutoGPT on algo trading systems will be significant. It will provide traders with a faster and more efficient way to develop new trading strategies, reducing the need for human intervention. With the ability to analyze vast amounts of data quickly, AutoGPT can identify market patterns and trends that would be difficult for humans to detect, leading to more accurate predictions and better trading decisions.

However, the adoption of AutoGPT by algo traders is still in its early stages, and its effectiveness in the real world is yet to be fully tested.

Algo traders, what is your view on the use of AutoGPT in algo trading systems? Do you believe it has the potential to improve trading performance, or do you have concerns about its accuracy and reliability? Are you keenly tracking the development on the AutoGPT front too?

@RahulDeshpande ,

Any comments on this Nifty Forecast by AI based on historical data?

Uncanny. Also, which tool did you use for forecasting the nifty?

It’s a pine script custom indicator, following a mix of ML techniques.

Wow really cool :rocket:

Would you be interested in giving us a walkthrough on how the pine script works, can arrange something for all the members.

Hey @RahulDeshpande ,

Thanks for the invite!

I think, without any programming background, learning directly a specialised language like pine script, is going to be a real bummer, specially without any parallel practical attempt, and soon it could turn into a boring activity. Rather, it should be a slow process with some hands on exercises by following tutorials available on YouTube, Kodify, Udemy etc. at one’s own speed.

I would be happy to answer any specific questions if possible.

@sdp501 ,

If the historical pricing is the only parameter which decides the future price, any price in the world today won’t be in a unknown dynamic structure and may be the market place won’t be even needed. :sweat_smile:

I would use such forecasting method to gauge, what most of market participants would expect if they only look at the recent price trends.

Is this going as per track ? Today I was expecting downside as per prediction…

Hey @sdp501 ,

It’s just a fun project, don’t take it too seriously.

Even if goes as per forecast, it will fail one day! :grin:
