Apologies. Looks like I missed in the explanation.

The symbols used by TradingView for Futures is not in the same nomenclature as Dhan Trading Symbols.
For example: Silver Futures December 2022 is SILVERZ2022 on TradingView, while on Dhan it is SILVER DEC FUT. This inconsistency across platforms is the reason for this limitation.

Therefore, currently it is only possible to place order at Dhan using Webhook by adding the script of Futures expiry that you want to trade in a basket instead.

But rest assured, we are working on this and will come up with something to enhance Dhan TradingView Webhooks.

We can pine code the correct symbol name and pass it on to alert message field in place of tradingview symbol name. Will that work then ?

There is no option to import watch in TV through Dhan. Any reason for not enabling it ?

No. We have not added such functionality as of now to avoid instances of incorrect order placement through webhooks.

If the symbol name is generated from code as per Dhan symbol list how can it go wrong ? FnO is the most actively traded segment at the exchange. So please enable direct firing for FnO via tradignview webhook.

@t7support

We are enhancing order placement through Webhooks and surely, we will be looking into FnO order placement as well.

brother i also tried this but not working

have you got the solution to trade from option through future or spot by alerts webhooks

it is like semi algo order {fast excution} when alert triggered

Hi Dhan Team,

I am learning about your platform . Thanks for consolidating some features for ease of use.

I am facing some issue and i want to hear your advice.

I want to trade in option strategy based on underlying on TV chart. What should i do?

I have tried to see webhook and set it on TV chart alerts but TV charts in my account are only on underlying. It generate signal and based on the signal on underlying i want to take entry in straddle or iron condor for underlying options (multi leg strategy).

I am trying a basket but it may not do what i requested as I have to creat a new basket for each order and management of options become complex. And in basket i have to fix the strike. Is there an way to have json for ATM strikes than using a fixed strike?

Please help to provide a clear example to help with this. Is basket the only way?

Can i club two json for buy and sell in one message?

Great if you create a blog with step by step doing the same.

Thanks! I would take more time on it if it works for me, I can shift to it completely from another broker which is very popular!!

Hello @cookoo

First of all, welcome to Dhan community! It’s great to see your interest in TradingView Webhooks.

For trading in Futures and Options, currently baskets are the only way through which you can place orders through Webhook. You can place order on any underlying chart and the basket in your alert message will get triggered.

However, we are coming up with enhancements in Webhook which will solve for all of the use cases highlighted by you. Stay tuned for the same!

This totally defeats the purpose of automation for which i created account with Dhan, you are publishing and misinforming multiple places to trade directly from tradingview(TV) and its strategy, now i have a strategy on TV which fires mutiple entry and exit and and Am unable to place Banknifty/nifty future orders.

Kindly give never expiring webhook url. Your webhook has expiry of 30 days max option available. Give option of never expiring webhook. As sometimes the price for automated trade in consolidation period will come after a month which will not work as the url will expire.

Hello @Bhupen.Mamgai

First of all, welcome to Dhan Community!
We are soon coming up with enhancements which will allow you to directly place orders in other segments while trading through TradingView Webhooks.

That being said, I suggest you to please reach out to @Dhan_Help at help@dhan.co with your use case so that we can ensure if that will be possible with the product that we are coming up with. At Dhan, we always have user first approach, and we ensure that through open communication with all of our users.

Hey @darshanb

Welcome to Dhan Community!
The idea of having fixed time period for expiry in webhooks is to ensure trades happening in user accounts are authorised and user is aware of the same.

To take an example here, let’s assume that there is no time limit on Webhooks and a user places multiple price alerts on TradingView and forgets about the same. Since the case is of never expiring webhooks, we can assume that the user will not be opening TradingView daily to check on his alerts and wants to enter/exit trades automatically. Now, these trades may get triggered six months from now simultaneously and end with user entering into loss making trades instead since markets are dynamic by nature.

Other than that, we don’t see any use case at the moment where any active trader using product such as webhooks facing problem with the validity duration of the Webhook URL.
30 day time period is liberal enough for any trader to update Webhook URLs in price alerts.

Do let us know your specific use case if the rationale here doesn’t suffice. You can reach out to @Dhan_Help at help@dhan.co

Hi @PravinJ @RahulDeshpande ,

I am the first one I guess asking for enabling option orders through Webhook from last 7-8 months. I am really glad that you guys are finally working on that. Any timeline when it will be enabled fully?

Note: i am trading manually now in options for very small capital on dhan. Once options through Webhook enabled, i will shift my main capital to dhan.

This will be available by mid-late January 23, we are hoping to ship it by that time.

Welcome to Dhan community @Rajendra

I have 2 trading account with Dhan. 1 for me and 1 for my wife. And I have 1 TV pro account.
I have coded 2 strategies with pine script and automate them with webhook in those 2 accounts to clearly see difference of outcome.
Both strategies have minor difference only and hence most of the times signals are generated at same time.
But only 1 account receives signal and other account doesn’t.
Why is so ?

Can’t I place webhook orders for 2 strategies in 2 Dhan accounts ?

2>
I use basket orders for my strategies and generate buy and sell signals from (alert condition) and integrate them with buy and sell basket.
My query is should I use same webhook url for buy and sell alerts and just a different JSON script ?
Or I need 2 webhook urls - 1 for buy basket and 1 for sell basket ?

Thank you Dhan for excellent support team !!

I have deleted old alerts.

Now I have put same webhook url in both buy and sell alerts (having same ‘Secret’)

Strategy 1 - Account 1 - 1 webhook url (Generated for account 1) in both buy and sell alerts
Strategy 2 - Account 2 - 1 webhook url (Generated from account 2) in both buy and sell alerts

Hope what I have done is right this time.

Waiting for a confirmatory reply from the team !

@Naman @Hardik @PravinJ pls reply
