At Dhan, we have built and introduced many things to ensure that charting experience on Dhan is seamless and incredible.
We already do many things, like always ensuring we keep most updated and stable libraries of charting - both for TradingView and ChartIQ. Over the time, we also introduced special time frames for India, like 25 minutes / 75 minutes and 125 minutes. Server side auto-saving of your settings, and keeping it in sync across all devices, and more recently introduced multi window charting experience on Dhan mobile apps. Some of them are massively used by our users.
We are trying to figure out more ways to enhance our charting experience on Dhan. We have few things in mind, but as usual want to understand few things from our users…
a. What is the your most commonly used time frame on charts?
b. How frequently do you change them in a day while trading?
c. Do use instant-trading on charts, or always prefer placing via order window?
d. Do lower-timeframes help?
e. For scalpers, what is a missing for you on charts?
Your responses will help us building Dhan better for you.
Many times, I can’t really count because multi-timeframe analysis is required for every trade.
I always prefer instant-trading and it is very convenient.
Yes, they definitely do.
I rarely scalp, but a faster refresh and proper update of charts after switching tabs would really help. When you go to a different tab for some time and come back to the stock chart it takes a while to update everything which makes the experience of trading totally annoying.
3,15,25,75,125,D,W,M
90% of time I use 3min TF.
Missing Alert feature on chart. Alert is not good. Mostly it didn’t give any notification till today.
Otherwise best charting, Execution of order is little slow for me.
If you can introduce shortcut for watchlist then it will become mouse free analysis for me(because I only use mouse to change watchlist). If you are planning to add these features then no other platform is better than yours for me.
Bigger the time frame, bigger the MTM swings and bigger the SL. Prefer to use 1D, 1H, 15m charts during day for following up in a trade. Always prefer to use a limit order i.e. BID/ASK come to my requested price.
a) I use multi-timeframe technique for analysis. And use Monthly, Weekly, Daily, Hourly, 15 min, 5 min and 1 min.
Thus, I have to use a four screen or six screen layout.
b) 3-4 times in a day. From 6 screen to 4 screen and vice versa. I maximise in between the layouts to see broader data.
c) Prefer to use order window either, tradingview’s or Dhan’s.
d) Yes, for intraday trading, they are a must.
e) Don’t do scalping.
As an aside, please focus on improving past chart data. Further, current splits, bonuses etc. are not adjusted on intraday timeframes leading to hampering of intraday trading.
