I have 50 percent of stocks quoting below thier purchase price, even though I would want to hold them for long term , would it help sell those stocks and buy again so that i will incur capital loss which can be subtracted from capital gains for this year?
Can we have button to sell and buy the same quantity ?
hi @yesraaj, when you sell and buy the stocks to avail tax benefit - the expected behavior is the stocks should be removed from your demat account and bought again in your demat account. If you simply do a buy and sell on same day, exchanges will see this as a intra-day trade, with that you will not be able to achieve what you have in mind for protecting your capital gains. Not at this moment, we just launched Dhan few weeks back. So unlikely we will have users who will incur loss in this FY. Next FY, yes, we will plan for something.
