25-12-2023 Monday Christmas

That was the list of stock market holidays in 2023. Bookmark this for future reference!

While we’re on the topic, here are a few fun facts. April 2023 has the most number of holidays whereas February and July have no holidays during weekdays.

Furthermore, there are 4 holidays that fall either on a Saturday or a Sunday - that’s why they do not appear on the main list.

Date Day Why
18-02-2023 Saturday Mahashivratri
22-04-2023 Saturday Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan ID)
29-07-2023 Saturday Moharram
12-11-2023 Sunday Diwali-Laxmi Pujan

This is interesting because Laxmi Pujan falls on a Sunday. If you’ve been in the markets, you’ll know that Laxmi Pujan is significant - it’s the day on which Muhurat Trading is held.

The time for Muhurat Trading hasn’t been announced yet. We’ll update this post and our blog on Muhurat Trading as soon as the exchanges reveal the time.

Do you think 2023 will be a good year for the Indian market? Let us know in the comments below!

Hi @Shriram - You are missing one holiday in April month.

April 21, 2023 (Friday): Id-ul-fitr (Ramzan Id)

Kindly confirm this and add it in the list.

Apr 21 is not a holiday for NSE.
