India’s premier exchanges have revealed the holiday list for the upcoming year. NSE and BSE will be shut for a grand total of 15 days in 2023. For your convenience, we’ve listed down all the holidays below.

While we’re on the topic, here are a few fun facts. April 2023 has the most number of holidays whereas February and July have no holidays during weekdays.
Furthermore, there are 4 holidays that fall either on a Saturday or a Sunday - that’s why they do not appear on the main list.

This is interesting because Laxmi Pujan falls on a Sunday. If you’ve been in the markets, you’ll know that Laxmi Pujan is significant - it’s the day on which Muhurat Trading is held.
