Its 2024 and the desktop app is still not included in the list of features to be built.
Just for clarity, this desktop app is just a chrome web app or iwindows app or something similar that exactly looks like it is running in a browser. Just that it comes with its own window with tabs and it preserves the history of tabs so that next time we open this desktop app same tabs re-appear.
Currently, TV has a same desktop app that you must have seen. Im hoping that it doesnt take building a desktop app from scratch but packaging the web code in a chrome web app or windows app, but I wouldbt be too sure.
One more problem this will solve is that of login using pin and otp etc as is mandated by regulations. When there will be a desktop app, it can use the biometric auth of laptop, either fingerprint or facial recognition, just like mobile app uses fingerprint auth without having to enter pin/otp. On browser opening dhan.co requires scanning qr code which means fetching mobile opening app then find the login to dhan web from side drawer…a great technical solution but too cumbersome for doing this everyday in the morning.
Although not much of a use case for me, but if Dhan do makes a desktop app, please consider Linux users too. Thanks.
