I understand this is a instant order functionality,suppose if my target price for buy is 170 but equity is trading at 165, would it buy at 165 or would wait for 170 to reach???
Hi @Nivetha, price for order execution depends on the order you have put. If order is a limit order for 170, it will send order to exchange and execute with 170. If you send order as market order, it will depend on price at that moment. Most folks assume orders get executed at LTP, it is last traded price not essentially that your order will execute at LTP. If you are taking orders for trading, i personally feel it is better to look at market depth (bids/ask) while looking at LTP.
Yes, adding a trigger price is a good way. But everyone has their own preferences and reasons to place trades their own way.
