The Sensitivity Index, commonly known as SENSEX, is India’s first stock market index, introduced in 1986. Sensex derivatives have been around for a while, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) initially introduced Sensex derivatives in 2000, but later discontinued due to poor participation & low liquidity. In May 2023, BSE relaunched Sensex derivatives (options and futures) with some changes like smaller lot sizes, less money needed upfront, and lower charges for transactions. Also, they changed the expiry cycle to Friday for SENSEX and Monday for BANKEX.
With all these updated contract specifications, Sensex derivatives saw an overwhelming response and with every expiry date, the number of participation is increasing over a period of time . We introduced BSE F&O segment for all our users on August 2023 and over a period of time have extended all important features for Options Traders to trade in BSE F&O segment for SENSEX Options Trading - this includes Option Chain, Direct trading from Charts, Flash Trade, Trading Preferences and also the incredible pledge and margin experience on Dhan.
